Overview

Ongoing Shopify full-stack / e-commerce role across KU Europe's group of stores — theme development and customization, conversion-rate work, and an in-house CRO app built from scratch.

The Challenge

Multiple stores on different Shopify themes (Dawn variants, Ella, and custom builds), each needing its own mix of UX fixes, conversion work, and ongoing feature requests — plus no existing in-house tooling for running CRO experiments across the group.

Our Approach

  • Theme-level fixes and rebuilds per store: header/drawer/search redesigns, product-page buy-box reordering, mobile bug fixes, and new custom sections.
  • Conversion-rate work: delivery-estimate banners, payment-icon and guarantee placement, sticky add-to-cart, bundle boxes, and A/B-testable review carousels.
  • Audited and fixed issues on stores still in development ahead of their launch — theme exports, JSON schema validation, missing alt text, and localization leaks.
  • Started building KU Europe Conversion Suite, an in-house multi-module CRO/A-B-testing Shopify app for the group.

Stores Worked On

Redesigned the header, drawer, and search experience with new iconography, and migrated the store off a duplicate theme onto its live theme. Reordered the product-page buy box — larger price display, the guarantee badge moved under the price, payment icons placed under Add to Cart, and a DHL delivery banner added. Fixed quantity-stepper and mini-cart add-on bugs affecting Safari and iPhone, and reworked the cart upsell script so add-ons work correctly even from an empty cart.
Restyled the mobile drawer and its icons on the Ella theme, fixed the search placeholder and a recently-viewed-products bug, and added a cart-drawer upsell badge. Built a DHL delivery bar showing a dynamic estimated delivery day, added payment icons and a guarantee line to the product page, and made the cart drawer more compact so add-ons stay visible without scrolling.
Localized filter labels into German on this customised Dawn store, added a press-logos strip and review count, and introduced per-kg pricing. Built a sticky add-to-cart bar for desktop and mobile, a DHL delivery box with payment icons on both the product page and cart drawer, bundle boxes, and a cart total line with VAT wording. Rebuilt the mobile menu, header, and account icon.
Built a new review-cards carousel section for the BT-14 product page on this Dawn-based store, pulling five-star Judge.me reviews automatically with photos shown first, navigated via arrows and dots — built as its own section specifically so it could be A/B tested against the existing reviews block.
Added a quantity selector to a custom Product Plans widget across several products. Shipped product-specific fixes for a new nasal-strip product (gallery default image, variant image swap, badge removal), and diagnosed an Add to Cart error that traced back to standard Shopify cart behavior on a Draft-status product rather than a bug — confirmed fixed once published.
Audited a new Dawn-based store ahead of launch — a static review of the theme export plus a full code pass (schema validation, alt text, dangling renders, JS syntax) and live testing across desktop and mobile. Found and documented real issues: misattributed reviews, encoding errors, English text leaking into the German storefront, invalid JSON schema files, missing alt text, a stray filter option, and an internal collection name surfacing in the breadcrumb — plus a recurring pattern where disabled/unselected states relied on a lighter shade of the brand pink instead of a true neutral style.
CosmoBuy (in development)
Fixed the mega menu (corrected domain references and broken or missing links), and tagged all 99 products into the correct categories, verified against the original planning files. Diagnosed collection-page 404s caused by Shopify's automatic handle generation not matching the planned URLs, resolving them by pulling the real handles from the sitemap. Identified three categories that were intentionally empty pending matching products, and proposed a tag-based filtering fix for a sidebar wording mismatch.
Rebuilt the homepage as a native Shopify theme on a ThirdDimension staging store, replacing a page-builder-based version, section by section — matching the live site's measured layout, color, and typography. Fixed styling across the security-highlights, product-details, mounting-info, icon-feature-row, benefits-row, trust-strip marquee, process-steps, reviews, use-case-tags, FAQ accordion, contact form, promo-banner, hero-banner, feature-cards-grid, and image-text-card sections. Finished with a flush-edge image carousel using dot pagination in place of Dawn's default arrows and counter, including fixes to two bugs in the existing dot-sync script.

In-House Systems Built

Every tool below was designed, built and is actively used — no off-the-shelf software, no outsourcing.

KU Europe Conversion Suite
A custom, multi-module CRO and A/B-testing Shopify app for the group's stores, built from spec through a working demo under the company's Shopify Partner organization. Shipped modules include frequently-bought-together, estimated delivery date, and a bundle builder (quantity breaks plus fixed bundles); price testing, post-purchase upsell, and address validation are planned as upcoming modules. Built as a Shopify React Router app with Prisma/Postgres and Shopify theme app extensions (Liquid/CSS/JS) for the storefront-facing pieces, deployed via GitHub to the company's own infrastructure. Found and fixed real issues along the way — deploy failures, missing bundle images and descriptions, and a stale deployment bug. Wrote the plain-language scope and status documentation used by the team.

The Outcome

Across the group's stores, shipped consistent theme-level UX and conversion fixes, caught real bugs before two new stores launch, and KU Europe Conversion Suite is in active development as the group's own CRO testing platform.
